Wood Rot Repair

Wood rot is the slow result of long-term moisture. It begins at sill plates, beam ends and joists near leaks and spreads quietly until the wood loses its strength. By the time floors feel soft, the damage is often well along.

We repair wood rot in crawl spaces across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Rotted sections are cut back to solid wood, replaced with new lumber and tied into the existing framing, and the moisture source is dealt with so the new wood stays dry.

FAQ

Common questions about wood rot repair

Can rotted wood be saved?

Light surface damage can sometimes be stabilized. Wood that has lost strength should be replaced.

Is rot the same as termite damage?

They look different. Rot comes from moisture and fungi, while termites tunnel and eat wood. Both can be present, and we note which we see.

Will rot come back?

Not if the moisture source is fixed. That is why we look for the cause as part of every repair.
