Pipe Insulation & Freeze Protection

Water lines under a house are exposed to winter air coming through vents and gaps, and to summer condensation. A burst pipe during a cold snap can flood a crawl space and damage a home quickly.

We insulate and protect pipes in crawl spaces across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Foam sleeves are fitted along supply lines, gaps and vents are sealed to keep cold air off them and we note any vulnerable spots such as outside walls and hose bibs.

What you get

Done right, from the first walk-through

01

Foam sleeves on supply lines

Pipes are wrapped and secured with ties or tape.

02

Cold air paths closed

Open vents and gaps that blow on pipes are sealed.

03

Condensation control

Insulation keeps cold pipes from sweating in summer.

04

Notes on weak points

Pipes near walls, doors and outdoor faucets are flagged for extra care.

FAQ

Common questions about pipe insulation

Will insulation keep pipes from ever freezing?

It slows heat loss but cannot stop freezing in extreme cold. Sealing drafts and, in some cases, adding heat tape gives better protection.

Should I drip faucets in a freeze?

A slow drip during a hard freeze can help prevent bursting. We also recommend knowing where your main shutoff is.

Can insulation hide leaks?

It can, so we inspect pipes first and repair what we find before wrapping them.
