Crawl Space Access Doors

The access door is the one hole in an otherwise sealed crawl space that gets opened regularly. A warped, rotted or loose door lets in humid air, water, pests and light, and an awkward one makes it hard for anyone to inspect or service what is underneath.

We install crawl space access doors for homes in Nashville and across Middle Tennessee, in exterior walls or through the floor inside. Doors are insulated, gasketed and trimmed so they seal tightly yet open easily when you need them.

What you get

Done right, from the first walk-through

01

Insulated, gasketed doors

A tight seal keeps humid air, pests and water out of the space.

02

Exterior and interior options

Doors in the foundation wall or a hatch through the floor, sized to what you need.

03

Secure latches

Closures that keep animals and unwanted visitors out.

04

Clean framing and trim

The opening is framed and flashed so water runs away from it.

The process

How your service comes together

  1. 1

    Look at the opening

We check the size, the wall or floor, grade and any drainage at the door.

  2. 2

    Frame and fit

The opening is framed, the door is hung and the gasket and latch are set.

  3. 3

    Seal and test

We check the seal, the swing and the drainage around the door.

FAQ

Common questions about access doors

Can you make the opening bigger?

In many cases we can, as long as the structure allows it. We look at framing and foundation details before we change an opening.

Should the door be on the outside or inside?

Both can work. Exterior doors are easier to reach, and interior hatches avoid exposing the opening to weather. We help you choose.

What about water at the door?

We check grade, gutters and drainage around the entry. If water collects there, we recommend fixing that along with the door.
