Beam & Girder Repair

The main beam, or girder, collects the load from the floor joists and passes it to the piers. When it cracks, rots or sags, the whole floor system above it suffers and the damage spreads along its length.

We repair and replace beams and girders in crawl spaces across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. The load is temporarily supported, the damaged section is repaired or replaced and permanent posts are set so the beam is carried properly.

What you get

FAQ

Common questions about beam & girder repair

Can a damaged beam be repaired instead of replaced?

Sometimes. If the damage is limited, sistering or plating may be enough. Severe rot or splits usually call for a replacement.

Is a beam repair dangerous?

It is serious work, which is why the floor is shored before anything is cut or removed.

Why did my beam fail?

Moisture, termites, overspans and settling piers are common causes. We look for the cause and recommend ways to prevent a repeat.
