Sump Pump Installation

A sump pump is the heart of most crawl space and basement water systems. When water collects, the pump lifts it out through a discharge line. If it fails, is undersized or has nowhere to send water, the system stops working just when you need it.

We install and replace sump pumps across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Pumps are sized to the water you actually have, set in a sealed basin with a check valve and a discharge line that carries water away from the house.

What you get

Done right, from the first walk-through

01

Pump matched to your water

Capacity and head are chosen for the volume and the discharge run.

02

Sealed basin and lid

A gasketed lid keeps humid air and odors out of the space.

03

Check valve and union

Water does not run back into the pit, and the pump can be serviced easily.

04

Discharge to a safe outlet

The line is routed to a place where water will not return to the foundation.

The process

How your service comes together

  1. 1

Check the pit and the route

We look at the basin, the power supply and the path water must travel to get out.

  2. 2

    Install and connect

The pump, valve and piping are installed and sealed, and the float is set.

  3. 3

    Test and explain

We fill the pit to run the pump, check the discharge and show you how to test it yourself.

FAQ

Common questions about sump pumps

How long does a sump pump last?

It varies with use and quality. A pump that runs often wears out sooner, so it is smart to test it regularly and have a backup plan.

Can I test my pump?

Yes. Slowly pour water into the pit and watch the float lift and the pump start. We show you the safe way to do it.

Where should the water be discharged?

Away from the foundation, onto a grade that slopes away or into a storm drain where permitted. We check the route before we install.
